Wazdan marks 16th regulated market entry with Greek licence

Wazdan has been granted its Manufacturer A1 Suitability licence by the Hellenic Gaming Commission, marking its 16th certified jurisdiction.

Global slot supplier Wazdan has been granted its Manufacturer A1 Suitability licence by the Hellenic Gaming Commission, marking its 16th certified jurisdiction.

With the new accreditation, the supplier’s ‘top-performing’ products have become available in the Greek market, including 9 Lions, Larry the Leprechaun, its Hold the Jackpot titles and the Power of Gods series – including Power of Gods: the Pantheon.

“We are delighted to receive our Greek licence as we continue to focus on our expansion in regulated markets,” commented Andrzej Hyla, head of sales at Wazdan.

“We’re very proud to receive our 16th independent market certification, and we are very eager to see how our games are received in this exciting market.”

The Greek market’s new regulation came into force on August 1, as suppliers look to enter the regulated market.

After the Greek parliament passed a new gambling reform bill in 2019, the Hellenic Gaming Commission opened the licensing process in Greece in October 2020.

Part of a wider package called Invest in Greece, the online gambling reforms included legislation intended to streamline environmental and planning regulations.

On September 8, Wazdan is set to release another Greek-themed title, Power of Gods: Hades, as the provider continues to expand its collection of regulated markets, with this latest development following its entry to the New Jersey and Belarus markets in recent months.
